According to the new Canada Immigration updates released by the Government of Canada, international students may travel to Canada.
From October 20, 2020, international students may travel to Canada only if:
- They have a legitimate study permit or letter of introduction, and
- They will be attending classes in a designated learning institution (DLI) with a COVID-19 readiness plan approved by the province or territory.
According to the new Canada Immigration Update, students can not travel if their application is not yet finalized. They should have a valid study permit or letter of introduction. Until they receive final permission, they are not permitted to travel to Canada.
They will only be permitted to travel to Canada if their DLI is on the list of DLIs with a COVID-19 readiness plan approved by the province or territory where the DLI is located.
These measures are in place to allow students to maintain eligibility for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program if they are studying online from abroad.
We recommend checking the list frequently as the list gets updated regularly.
